Even though I sold a satisfying number of paintings – seven, I think – I still came out with a significant loss! That’s my painting ‘Honestly, again?‘, a fierce chaotic piece that tries to capture the hostility and obliviousness – the heated over-caring and indifferent under-caring – created by bad social media. This is my ‘Mother and Child – Quis Separabit’ – an optical illusion. Depending on how you look, it is a woman, the mother, or it is a toddler hugging its mother. The key to seeing it is: look again and see the apparent cleavage as not a cleavage, but as a bottom, peeping out of trousers slipping down.
